How To Build a Gingerbread House

House Assembly Instructions

Once you have your pieces baked and icing made, you are ready to assemble the house. First you will need something to use as a base for the house. We recommend using very sturdy cardboard, plywood, cookie sheets, or kitchen cutting boards. Whatever you are using, make sure it is plenty big enough for your house to sit on, and sturdy enough that you’ll be able to move your house after it’s built.

Step 1 Decide how you want your house to be positioned on the base. Make sure the base is big enough so you will have plenty of space for a front walkway, bushes along the side of the house, a backyard, etc.

Step 2 Lay your walls down on the base where they will go.

Step 3 Pipe a line of icing in an L shape for two adjoining walls, as well as a strip of icing along the inside edge of one wall.

Step 4 Carefully stand the walls up and hold in place a few minutes until stable.

Step 5 Repeat steps 4-5 for the other sides of the house.
